How Videquus works

With Videquus’ smart camera, you are close to your horse, even when you can not be in the stable. You see the horse directly on your phone and get an alarm if something seems wrong. You avoid worries and both of you can feel safe.

More than a camera

Videquus is so much more than a regular camera. It’s a groundbreaking camera service using advanced AI, fit together in an easy-to-use app where you can always follow your horse. The camera gets to know your horse’s unique behavior and can detect if something seems to be wrong, triggering an alarm directly to your cell phone.

With Videquus you are close to your horse, even when you’re not in the stable.

What do I get when I get Videquus?

Videquus’ various subscriptions always contain a camera that you mount in the horse’s box (FoalGuard and HorseGuard) or in the stable (StableGuard). Videquus’ various subscriptions always contain a camera that you mount in the horse’s box (FoalGuard and HorseGuard) or in the stable (StableGuard). You can also use Videquus on a computer in a standard browser.

This is included when you obtain Videquus:

  • Videquus unit (camera, single-board computer, IR light), power cables and AC-adapter, assembly instructions
  • Videquus app:
    • Live feed from the box/stable at any time
    • Fast-forward through the day in replay
    • Insights and statistics about the horse’s lying pattern, rest and movement (FoalGuard and HorseGuard)
    • Alarm in your phone 15 min – 5 hours before foaling (FoalGuard)
  • Sign informing about the surveillance
  • Possibility to pause your subscription for free up to three months a year
  • Our generous money-back-guarantee (applies to the FoalGuard )

Which subscription suits me?

The FoalGuard is specially designed to anticipate foaling and call you before it’s time. The subscription includes everything covered by HorseGuard, in addition, there is a large and specially adapted statistics section where the mare’s behavior before foaling is analyzed and compared with the days before.

If you are not expecting foals, The HorseGuard is the best choice. You get valuable statistics and insights about how your horse feels and behaves, every morning you get a greeting from your horse that compiles all activity since last night. Should the horse behave very differently, Videquus will call you immediately, day and night and tell you that you should look after your horse. You can follow the horse at any time in the app’s live function, or go back to see what happened around the clock in the replay function.

The StableGuard is our simplest subscription. You get access to the live function and round the clock at a low price, but the service lacks the other smart functions. StableGuard is a perfect complement to the box cameras if you want to monitor the saddle chamber, loose operation, the stable passage or the like.

Flexible and secure

With Videquus you get a camera, but access to three different subscriptions. You can upgrade or downgrade subscriptions at any time. Use the FoalGuard for your pregnant mare, choose the smart HorseGuard that suits all horses or go with the more basic service StableGuard.

Videquus only needs power, internet and a little roof over its head to work and simplify for you.

Install and get started

We have done everything to make it super easy to install Videquus!

For the smart subscriptions HorseGuard and FoalGuard it is particularly important that the camera is mounted correctly and film the entire horsebox, but at the same time as little as possible of the surrounding environment.

It is good to check before installation is the capacity for WiFi or 4G coverage in the stable. Without an acceptable internet connection, we can unfortunately not deliver our service. For 4G / 5G, it may be a good idea to check the operators’ coverage maps for your area – if you use our router, Tres coverage map. An easy way to check that the coverage is sufficient is to use your mobile: If you can play a YouTube clip or similar on your phone without major problems, Videquus will also work.

Another good tip if you do not have an electrical outlet right next to the box is to buy an extension cord for the camera’s power supply. Ask for an extension cord with DC 2.1 plug at a well-stocked electronics store.

How do I buy Videquus?

Once you have decided which subscription you want, you put it in the shopping cart. Then you go to the checkout as on any e-commerce.

A start fee is charged for you to get the camera home, set up in our systems and get your horse registered to be monitored and have their behavior monitored and interpreted by our smart systems. Your first monthly cost is also deducted in connection with the purchase.

After that, your subscription is automatically paused and the next monthly cost will not be deducted until you have installed and activated the camera. If you do not have an internet connection in the stable, you can buy it from us in the step before payment. You will then also receive a router with a pre-programmed SIM card.

If you want more cameras with different subscriptions, add them to the shopping cart before you check out. You can then always change subscriptions if you log in to your customer page which is accessed both via the app and videquus.se.

In addition to what you get home from us, you need to download and log in to the app.

Get to know the Videquus app

Home page

Keep track of what’s happened lately! The home page provides a quick overview of what has happened since the last time you checked your horse. You can then click on to immerse yourself in insights into your horse’s behavior.

  • The% figure shows the horse’s activity level. 100% means normal activity, based on data from the last 30 days. Anything above 100% means more activity than usual in the box, and below 100% means less activity.
  • The graph shows your horse’s activity at different times. The peaks represent more activity than usual and are followed by an orange play symbol that leads to a movie clip from the moment. You can swipe to view previous days.
  • The 24h recap shows a fast-paced film in the last 24 hours from the box. You can easily change the day to watch the day in replay from previously saved days (does not apply to the subscription StableGuard ).

Rest, time in the box and events

Here, the total length of stay in the box and how long the horse has rested is logged. The top bar shows when the horse went in, out, and when it lay and for how long. Clips on extra activity are also shown here. The clips can be downloaded directly to the image folder on the phone.

During the event log, you can also tag days with activities related to the horse. In this way, it becomes easier to see patterns if, for example, vaccination or hard training affects the horse’s mood. You can use the preset tags but also create your own. At the bottom of the page, the concept of activity is explained in more detail.

Morning greeting from your horse

The first time you open the app each day  you get a morning greeting from your horse that tells about the night and when the horse went in, how long it lay down, rested, when it was extra active and when in the morning it went out.

Almost as good as if the horse himself had been able to tell you how it has been since yesterday.

Weekly report

The weekly report summarizes your horse’s boxing time, rest and activity in percent. You can see what the horse’s behavior looked like over the week and compare with previous weeks. A superb overview simply! You can find it by clicking on the week number on the home page.
Choose to sort the statistics by day, day or night.

Tip! If you see that a day deviates and use the tags to mark the horse’s days, you will quickly be able to see what it is that affects your horse’s behavior and mood.
